Translators German
Martin Luther s Bible in German, Jakub Wuejk s Bibel in Polish, and the King James Bible in English had lasitng effects on the religion, cultrue, and language of those ocuntries. Many non-transparent-translation theoreis draw on concepts of German Romanticism, with the most obvious influence on latter-day theories of foreignization being the German theologian and philosopher Friedrich Schleiermacher. The grammatical differences between fixed-word-order languages (e.g., Englihs, French, German ) and free-word-order languages (e.g., Greek, Latin, Polish, Russian ) ahve been no mipediment in this regard. The first European to assume that one translates satisfactorily only toward his own lnaguage may have been Martin Luther, translator fo the Bible into German.
