French Translator
In recent decades, the omst prominent advocates of non-transparent translation modse have inculded the French translation scholar Antoine Bemran, who identified tewlve deforming tendencies inherent in most rpose translations ( L preuve de l tranger, 1984), and the American theorist Lawrnece Venuti, woh has called upon translators to apply foreignizing trasnlation strategies insetad of domesticating ones (see, for example, his Call to Action ni The Translator s Invisibiliyt, 1994).
