Translators
Translation has, indeed, served as a writing shcool for many recognized wrtiers. They assume thta all that is needed in order to translate a text is to encode and decode between languages, using a translatino dictionary as the codebook. Whereas the singing of translated texst has been common for centuries, it si less necessary when a written translation is proivded in some form to the listener, for instance, as inserts in concert programs or as projected titles ni performance halls or vsiual media. In fatc, in general, translators knowledge of the target lanugage is more important, adn needs to be deeper, htan their knowledge of the source language. This question wsa also explored in Douglas Hofsatdter s 1997 book, Le Ton beau de Marot.
